Specialist tutorMany students work hard but still do not see the results they want. Often, the issue is not effort. It is direction.
The Vector Institute helps students understand what examiners, markers, and assessment criteria actually reward. Sessions are structured around active recall, past-paper practice, mark scheme breakdowns, targeted feedback, and clear revision priorities.
Tutoring is not passive. Students are challenged to think, apply, justify, and improve.
Large tutoring centres can be inconsistent. Students may not always know who they are getting, how experienced the tutor is, or whether the lesson will be properly tailored.
The Vector Institute is deliberately different. We are a small, founder-led tutoring business with selected specialist support where additional subject expertise is required. Student numbers are kept deliberately small so tutoring remains personal, structured, and high-quality.
Every student is supported with a clear focus: understand the content, practise deliberately, and learn how to produce work that earns marks.
Hi, I'm Andre.
I completed the IB at Newington College in 2022 and am studying Actuarial Studies and Commerce (Finance) at UNSW Sydney. Over the past four years, I have tutored 40+ students across 300+ hours of one-on-one support.
My lessons focus on mark schemes, exam technique, and the mistakes students make most often, because I've been through the IB myself.
When I went through the IB, I did not have a tutor. I worked hard, but I lost time on things that did not move my marks, like revising content without a clear exam strategy, or polishing work without knowing what examiners actually reward.
That is what The Vector Institute is built around: helping students understand the system, practise deliberately, and turn effort into marks.

Enquire about specialist support →Maths has felt a lot easier since starting lessons with Andre. He is patient, explains things clearly, and always makes sure I fully understand a topic before moving on. He has also been really helpful with my Internal Assessment and TOK work, giving strong guidance and feedback that has improved both my confidence and the quality of my work.
Andre was an extremely important part of my IB experience. Before I started tutoring with him, I was barely achieving a grade 3. Within a couple of months, I improved to a grade 6. He is extremely detail-oriented and tailors each lesson to the individual needs and capabilities of the student. I'm extremely grateful for his support.
Andre was a major help throughout my IB Economics journey. He not only taught me the content, but also mentored me through the challenges of Years 11 and 12, helping me improve my self-management, study habits, and confidence. Before working with him, I had never passed an Economics exam. His clear explanations, patience, and ongoing support completely changed my approach to the subject. With his guidance, I ultimately achieved a Band 6 in Economics and gained entry into Project Management at UTS. I'm incredibly grateful for his support and would highly recommend him to any student looking to improve both academically and personally.
Tisya is such a sweet and supportive biology tutor. She always made lessons enjoyable and easy to understand, and her positive attitude made learning much less stressful. She's also really easy to talk to, which helped me feel comfortable asking questions. A big reason I did well in Year 12 Biology was because of her guidance, encouragement, and ability to explain difficult concepts clearly. I'm very grateful for all her help and would highly recommend her to anyone studying Biology.

Submit a draftLessons at The Vector Institute include more than just the tutoring hour. Depending on the subject and student's needs, lessons may include tailored resources, past-paper questions, mark scheme guidance, lesson summaries, targeted review tasks, assessment strategy, feedback on common mistakes, and guidance on how to study more effectively between sessions.
The goal is not just to explain content. The goal is to help students understand how to turn their knowledge into marks.
New students are encouraged to begin with a first lesson, backed by a money-back guarantee, so we can recommend the best option based on your goals.
Small group lessons are for students who want structured support at a lower per-person rate, without the feel of a large tutoring centre class.
Groups are kept deliberately small so every student still receives meaningful guidance, not just a lecture. Ideal for friends in the same subject, study groups preparing for the same assessment period, or siblings working at a similar level.
We are currently building the timetable and group formats. Join the waitlist to be notified when sessions open.
